About Us

Together with hundreds of walkers, sponsors, and donors, the Saint Anne's Hospital Get Moving Walk has made a difference to cancer patients in our region. In the event's history, the walkers, donors, and sponsors of the walk, have raised  $784,311, net of expenses, for cancer patients.

These funds helped to establish the creation of the FIRSTFED Center for Breast Care at Saint Anne's Hospital and made possible the 7,000-sq. ft. expansion of the Hudner Oncology Center. Proceeds have also helped us acquire advanced radiation treatment technology, including the area's first CT-based, three-dimensional radiation treatment planning facility and two state-of-the-art linear accelerators used for radiation oncology treatments. 

Our walk 3.5- mile walk is designed for walkers of all ages and abilities and safely travels through a quiet residential neighborhood.  Get Moving is embraced by the whole community as evidenced by the diversity of our participants.  Children, grandparents, cancer survivors, community and corporate leaders, hospital staff, and even dogs, come together to celebrate hope and honor life.  And we hope you too will join us!

Since Saint Anne’s Hospital cancer care program was founded in 1976 as a medical oncology outpatient clinic of Boston University, our Hudner Oncology Center has grown to provide the region’s most comprehensive, hospital-based oncology services.  We care for more than 5,800 patients annually by offering the expertise of university cancer centers with the care and convenience of a community setting... and a host of complementary services to help patients and their loved ones make the cancer journey with care and concern.
