9th Annual Camy 5K Run and David 5K Walk
The torrential rain couldn’t keep the 200 runners and walkers away from the 9th Annual Camy 5K Run & David 5K Walk held on Saturday, November 14th. The annual event is named in honor of Clerici’s grandfather, Camilio “Camy” Clerici, who died of cancer at age 86, and an older brother, David Clerici, who at 38 died of medical complications after becoming cancer free. Camy and David, who both died in 2000, received care at the Caritas Norwood Hospital clinic.
In the nine years the Clericis have held the Walpole run and walk, they have raised more than $31,000—including money raised when Paul Clerici, race director, runs the Boston Marathon each year—which has been donated through the David Clerici Memorial Fund to the hospital’s oncology/hematology clinic/lab. Most recently, the family presented a $3,400 check to Jessica Symonds, Vice President of Development of Norwood Hospital.
From the Caritas family hospital, we sincerely appreciate the commitment and dedication the Clerici family has demonstrated over the years.
