Pathology and Laboratory

Holy Family's pathology department maintains a full-service diagnostic laboratory processing tests 24 hours per day, seven days a week. The laboratory telephone number is 978-687-0156 ext. 2458.

The laboratory is accredited and licensed by:

- The College of American Pathologists (CAP)
- The American Association of Blood Banks (AABB)
- Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CLIA)

The laboratory performs millions tests annually and provides services for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, health centers, physician offices, long term care facilities, and nursing homes. Laboratory services include comprehensive anatomic pathology, cytology, histology, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, microbiology, and transfusion medicine.

Pathologists are board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, cytology, hematopathology, and blood bank. Laboratory staff includes MD pathologists, technologists, technicians, lab assistants, and administrative staff.

Aquinas Pathology's high quality lab analysis and reports incorporate state-of-the-art staining techniques, terminology and technology. Personalized responses are made with careful consideration of the specific needs of patients. To ensure ongoing quality and consistency, Aquinas pathologists conduct case presentation meetings with teams of surgeons and radiologists twice per week.  Aquinas pathologists participate in all pertinent proficiency testing and continuing education programs of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). They are inspected and certified by the CAP.
