Each year, the Center’s 20 physician specialists perform nearly 3,000 orthopedic and spine procedures. Serving inpatients and outpatients, the Regional Center for Orthopedic Care is a Blue Distinction Center®, a prestigious designation from BlueCross and BlueShield of Massachusetts. Holy Family is the only hospital in the Merrimack Valley and in the New Hampshire and Vermont regions to receive this distinction to date in two orthopedic categories: Knee and Hip Replacement and Spine Surgery.

Holy Family Hospital is proud to have earned the Blue Distinction in Knee and Hip Replacement and Spine Surgeries. BlueCross and BlueShield of Massachusetts administers the Blue Distinction program to help consumers find healthcare facilities that have better overall outcomes, including fewer medical complications, fewer readmissions and higher survival rates, in the delivery of specialty care. To acquired this designation, Holy Family was measured agaisnt its peers in several criteria including patient outcomes, procedure volume, breadth of services, and process. Holy Family Hospital's advanced training programs and specialty-based patient care teams, as well as its commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement, were key factors in earning the Blue Distinction.
