Holy Family is home to one of the area’s only facilities specifically dedicated to stroke patients. In collaboration with New England Neurological Associates, the Holy Family New England Regional Stroke Center is part of a larger network created by the National Stroke Association.
Our team of trained specialists work together with each patient to diagnose stroke conditions or identify alternate causes, identify type, location, and severity of a stroke, reduce the risk of complications or recurrence, and coordinate a rehabilitation plan.
Early Intervention
Early identification of stroke warning signs and immediate medical care are crucial. At our New England Regional Stroke Center, we implement fast emergency medical service activation to mobilize hospital resources for stroke patients. Integrated teams from our emergency and radiology departments are on hand to immediately identify, treat, and manage brain attacks. In some cases, quick response can mean the possibility of reversing the effects of a stroke through drug therapy.
Rehabilitation
At the New England Regional Stroke Center, we foster a team approach to rehabilitation that involves stroke survivors and their family members. While most stroke survivors undergo a natural healing process, recovery can be greatly enhanced with further rehabilitation. Our goal is to use the latest technology, combined with personal and compassionate attention, to help patients return to everyday life as independently as possible.
