Birthing Center: Questions & Answers

I’m interested in having my baby at Holy Family Hospital, what do I have to do? Begin by choosing and meeting with an obstetrician / midwife. We suggest that you also take our Virtual Tour of our Birthing Center or call to schedule an in-person tour at 978-687-0156 x2240. Visiting hours? Visiting hours end at 8:00 p.m. daily to ensure that our new moms get their rest. Your partner is welcome anytime throughout your stay. Children are also welcome but must be supervised by an adult. We do request that friends and family all be healthy when they visit.

Besides my doctor, who will be caring for me?
From the time you arrive at the Birthing Center, professional, experienced nurses are assigned to take care of you. They will get to know you and your family, taking a personal interest to make sure all of your needs are met. You should know that everyone at Caritas Holy Family Hospital wears many hats – caregiver, coach, educator and, especially, a support person helping you with the birth of your baby and seeing that you are ready for this next chapter in your life.

Can my baby “room in” with me?
Yes, your baby may “room in” with you at any time – for as much time as you decide to cuddle, feed or just admire your newborn. And when you need time for yourself, our staffed nursery is always available for your baby.
