Volunteering at Good Samaritan Medical Center is a long-standing tradition which we are very proud of. We invite you to join in this tradition by exploring the volunteer opportunities available here.
As you walk into Good Samaritan Medical Center, one of the very first people you'll see is a volunteer. Hundreds of people a day are given information on how to reach a room or meeting; sold gifts or flowers for friends or family member; escorted to a treatment room or had relatives soothed in the Emergency Department. These are done by our volunteers.
Behind the scenes, volunteers put together thousands of patient charts, travel from department to department with medical records and lab tests, fold and label thousands of letters or newsletters, run errands, and provide other needed assistance in nursing units for both patients and staff.
Volunteers have a choice of working at our three sites, Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, The Goddard Center in Stoughton and Good Samaritan Occupational Health Services in Avon.
Day, evening and weekend placements are available as well as short-term placement for school, church or community service requirements. Volunteer opportunities are available each day of the week, generally between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Our current volunteer opportunities include:
