Ways of Giving

Nothing feels better than supporting an organization that touches the lives of so many people. When you give to Carney, you join a community of people dedicated to helping the Hospital continue its long tradition of providing quality healthcare to our patients who live and work in Dorchester and the surrounding area. Your financial support is truly an investment in the future and will allow us to stay current with the rapidly changing health care environment and to purchase the related clinical equipment needed to take care of our patients. Below is a list of ways to give:

Annual Fund - The hospital's Annual Fund provides support for a range of items.  Your gift can be earmarked for this fund to address our continual need for new technologies, equipment, renovation, education, outreach and care for the indigent.

Restricted Gifts - As a caring member of our community, you can help Carney Hospital meet the health care needs of our patients.  Gifts to the Foundation can be restricted to a specific project or program.  The Foundation is currently focusing on the following four funds and your gift can be directed toward any of these areas:

• Diabetes Center Fund
• Emergency Department Fund
• Cancer Care Memorial Fund
• Endowment Fund

Tribute Gifts - Over a lifetime, many people touch our lives, affecting us profoundly.  Carney Hospital provides an especially meaningful way to honor them -- with memorial and honorarium gifts.  Giving to commemorate holidays, birthdays, graduations or other important personal milestones is a tradition for many of our hospital supporters.   Memorials: Gifts may be made in memory of a loved one. You may choose to donate to a specific fund or to make a general contribution to the Carney Hospital Foundation.  Honorariums: Gifts may be made to honor a special person or commemorate a special occasion.  Some of our former patients have made donations to acknowledge and thank a doctor, nurse or other staff member who provided extraordinary care.

Whatever your personal reason for giving, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re supporting the hospital's mission.   Once you have made a tribute gift, the foundation will send a card to the person being honored or to the family of the individual being memorialized. You in turn receive a letter from the hospital acknowledging your gift.

Planned Gifts - A planned gift is any contribution that will come to the Hospital in the future such as:

• Bequest in a Will
• Life Insurance
• Annuities
• Real Estate

Your gift will leave a legacy for generations to come and provides important resources to help ensure that Carney Hospital is ready to meet the health care demands of future generations.  To inquire about or to set up a planned gift, please contact your financial advisor.
